Yes Lord, I will

Its official, I am a mother of two boys, with it comes joy and humility. I feel highly favoured and blessed by the Lord.

As I think about the Lord’s goodness and His purpose for my sons’ life, Amani and Emmanuel, I am remindedof Proverbs 22:6; Train up a child in the way he should go, And when he is old he will not depart from it.

What a great responsibility it is the Lord has given my husband and I.

Deuteronomy 6:5-7; you shall love the LORD your God with all your heart, with all your soul, and with all your strength.  6 ” And these words which I command you today shall be in your heart.  7 “You shall teach them diligently to your children, and shall talk of them when you sit in your house, when you walk by the way, when you lie down, and when you rise up.

I have never felt the weight of these two verses until now; I realize how my relationship with the Lord is so important if I truly want to do as the Lord commands. If we truly want our sons to grow up upholding the thing of God and walking in the ways of the Lord then the journey begins with us (my husband and I)

Through it I learn two things;
  • My relationship with the Lord is important for my own personal journey as a mother

  • If I want my sons to believe in the things of the Lord and walk in them, they need to see me doing exactly that.

So here I am feeling all blessed by those two verses, glad that the Lord is mindful of me and my relationship with Him. Above all I am overwhelmed that as young as my sons are, the Lord already has a plan for their life and it’s for good not harm.
I say yes to your will Lord

Deuteronomy 6:20-25  ” When your son asks you in time to come, saying, ‘what is the meaning of the testimonies, the statutes, and the judgments which the LORD our God has commanded you?’  21 “then you shall say to your son: ‘we were slaves of Pharaoh in Egypt, and the LORD brought us out of Egypt with a mighty hand; 22 ‘and the LORD showed signs and wonders before our eyes, great and severe, against Egypt, Pharaoh, and all his household.  23 ‘Then He brought us out from there, that He might bring us in, to give us the land of which He swore to our fathers.  24 ‘And the LORD commanded us to observe all these statutes, to fear the LORD our God, for our good always, that He might preserve us alive, as it is this day.  25‘Then it will be righteousness for us, if we are careful to observe all these commandments before the LORD our God, as He has commanded us.’
